Dr. Grace Egenti is a distinguished Cybersecurity researcher, lecturer,
and ICT professional with over two decades of postgraduate
experience in information and communication technology. She holds
a PhD in Cybersecurity, an M.Sc. degree in Information Technology,
a Postgraduate Diploma in Distance Education, and a First-Class
Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc. Hons.) in Computer Science.
An accomplished web developer, UX/UI designer, IT trainer, and
Oracle Database Certified Professional (OCP), Dr. Egenti has built a
career committed to advancing cybersecurity awareness, digital safety, and secure technology integration across educational and digital ecosystems. She is a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), the Institute of Information Management, Africa (IIM), and the Chartered Institute of Coaching and Mentoring, Nigeria. She also maintains
active professional memberships with the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN), the Cybersecurity Experts Association of Nigeria (CSEAN), and the Nigerian Women in Information Technology (NIWIIT).
Dr. Egenti served as a Deputy Director in the Directorate of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), where she led the Web Application and Development Unit for six years. In this role, she has directed the development of several innovative and security-focused digital
solutions; she led the team that revamped the university website and sub sites. She has designed stunning and engaging websites for both local and international clients, ranging lfrom personal to corporate to e-commerce websites. Other models developed include AI-powered assessment systems for visually impaired learners to child online protection platforms and browser-based security enhancements. Her works reflects a deep commitment to designing inclusive, intelligent, and secure digital environments.
As a lecturer and researcher in Cybersecurity, her scholarly focus lies in cyber threat mitigation, Data and Information Security, human-centred security design, AI-driven protection systems, Web Applications and cybersecurity education within Open and Distance Learning (ODL). Her research continues to shape policy and practice in the field of digital trust, data privacy, and online safety.
Beyond her professional contributions, Dr. Egenti is passionate about mentoring women and young girls in technology, promoting digital inclusion, and encouraging female participation in the cybersecurity and ICT sectors. Through her mentorship and outreach initiatives, she empowers young learners to adopt safe digital practices and pursue
meaningful careers in technology. Dr. Grace Egenti is happily married and blessed with children. In her leisure time, she enjoys playing table tennis as a relaxing pastime.
