Morufu Olalere, an accomplished figure in the field of cyber security, holds a Ph.D. in Security in Computing specializing in Access Control from the esteemed University Putra Malaysia, which he earned in 2016.
His academic journey also includes a Master of Science in Computer Science obtained from the University of Ilorin, Ilorin, in 2014, and a Bachelor of Technology in Industrial Mathematics from the Federal University of Technology, Akure, in 2005.
Dr. Olalere’s professional career commenced at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, where he did his National Youth Service Corp in 2006 after completing his undergraduate studies. This initial role allowed him to fulfill the one-year mandatory national service requirement, and his dedication and aptitude led to his retention in the Department of Mathematics/Computer Science as Assistant Lecturer in 2007.
Subsequently, in 2009, he transitioned to the pioneering team in the Department of Cyber Security, where he contributed significantly to the department’s development and growth.
Dr. Olalere has established a remarkable track record of research achievements in the realm of cyber security. His work has been characterized by a pioneering application of diverse machine learning approaches to address critical cyber security challenges.
In addition to his outstanding research achievements, Dr. Olalere has also demonstrated a deep commitment to the academic development and mentorship of emerging scholars.
As an Associate Professor in the field of cyber security, he has actively supervised both Ph.D. and Master’s students, nurturing the next generation of experts in this critical domain.
